The first Freelander wreck

This is the first Freelander wreck I know off in Luxembourg. The accident happened in the night from Saturday 24 to Sunday 25th April 1999. The car was driven at high speed on one of the main boulevards, the "Boulevard Royal". This makes at one place a long bend which couldn't the Freelander manage. It slid off the road, jumped on the sidewalk and hit an low wall broadside. Due to the high speed it got thrown over the wall and landed in the park of the most luxurious hotel in Luxembourg. The two passengers, a joung couple, were slightly hurt.

The inside is remarkably undamaged when you compare it to the impact outside. Front right and rear left suspensions broke away. The engine bay looks almost undamaged. The airbags did not fire and this is correct as the impact was from the side.
